Austin has cultivated a healthy foodie scene over the years. The town is nipping at L.A.’s and New York’s heels in the race to be first with edible trends. But as with most novel ideas, a foodie trend often picks up in popularity, booms, and gets overdone. (Can anyone count the number of frozen yogurt spots that have popped up recently?)
So why would anyone try to set up a cupcake shop in a town where it seems like Hey Cupcake! has claimed every busy street corner and other bakeries have sweetened everywhere in between?
